C2C challenge - 140 Miles

Along with friend and colleague Mark Porter who owns the Official C2C-guide website   we ran a   very successful 2-day challenge ride on C2C last July. This involved bussing 200 people and their bikes from Tyneside to Whitehaven early on a Sat morning in time for them to cycle back 70 miles to Alston where their luggage was waiting for them at a spectacular riverside campsite. A hearty meal was laid on and those who had the energy were able to tour the pubs of Alston and share in the banter and camaraderie that such events engender.
Another early start saw a swift breakfast and departure with the first rider reaching the sea at Sunderland in time for lunch! The last few rolling in but still smiling (or grimacing ?) at around 6pm.
